The challenge
Vaccine manufacturers in developing countries face highly specialized challenges. Useful solutions depend on manufacturers, medical experts, data specialists, and engineers understanding the problem together.
My approach
As Solution Owner for a global vaccine manufacturing innovation sprint, I brought developing-country vaccine manufacturers, medical and global health experts, data specialists, and AI engineers into a shared process.
Across four weeks, I guided seven teams through rapid problem-solving, balancing what manufacturers needed with what engineering teams could feasibly build.
My role was to create the structure that let different kinds of expertise become working solutions: clarify needs, surface decisions, and keep teams moving toward a useful prototype.
What changed
The teams developed seven AI-powered vaccine manufacturing prototypes, presented to more than 100 peers and stakeholders at an in-person event in Seattle.
The strongest concepts advanced for consideration for up to $3 million in grant funding to support further development.
The technology mattered. So did creating the conditions for scientists, manufacturers, medical experts, and engineers to solve problems together.
